SUT is one of the biggest technical universities in Poland; consist of 15 faculties employing more than 1900 scientists, including 230 professors and 28 000 students. SUT has carried about one hundred different European Programmes including 4 grants supported in previous edition of Polish Norwegian Research Found.

The  Faculty  of  Automatic  Control,  Electronics  and  Computer  Science  (AEI)  is  one  of the  biggest SUT’s faculties.  The  Faculty  collaborates  with  polish  and  foreign  industrial  and  scientific partners. As a result, numerous projects of our researchers have been successfully implemented and different companies participate in the education process through student industrial placements as well as supervising the students’ theses and organizing training courses where certificates of competence are conferred.  The  AEI  faculty  has  previous  experiences  in  cooperation  with  the  Norwegian  project  HiSF.

AIUT is an engineering company established in 1991. It provides services and technical solutions in the field of automation, process control and production management for various kinds of industries. The Company has vast experience in design and execution of electrical projects, automation and process control engineering. Data collected from gas meters, tanks, pressure sensors, pressure regulators and sensors provide traceable gas & fuel storage, distribution, consumption leading to outage elimination and awareness of the end user. In order to achieve that goal AIUT provides state-of-the-art technology of ultra-low-power wireless communication devices, that allows for years of operation without battery exchange. Since on-site application on gas or fuel infrastructure is typically in explosive hazard zone, AIUT equipment is EX certified, and adheres to stringent safety regulations specified in the ATEX norm.

With about 80 research employees, the Center conducts both publicly subsidised and industry financed applied research projects and, by actively involving SMEs, suppliers and manufacturers in its ventures, sees itself as a driver of innovation for the region.

The ZAF builds on Ingolstadt's intellectual tradition of academic research, this city having enjoyed a reputation as a prominent centre of scholarship and research ever since the founding of the first Bavarian university there in 1472. True to the Humboldtian educational ideal of striving for a unity of scholarship and teaching, we teach young people how to research topics for themselves at the earliest possible opportunity. Those who graduate from the university with outstanding degrees receive the opportunity to prepare their doctoral thesis at the ZAF in conjunction with partner universities. While doing so, they are always involved in industrial projects as project engineers.

Since the institute's establishment, as well as developing its research expertise it has created diverse national and international networks of knowledge spanning both applied fundamental research and industry. The high quality of this research is reflected in particular through its admission, as the first Bavarian university of applied science, to the European University Association (EUA) and as the only German university to date to sit on the EUA/Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE). Within this new framework, the aim is to tackle research projects increasingly in partnership with other European regions and with the involvement of small and medium enterprises businesses on a local scale.
