Goals and topics
The main goal of this Conference is to provide a forum for engineers and researchers interested in hardware and software IT solutions used in automotive area to meet, exchange research and implementation ideas, and results. It also provides this group of practitioners/researchers an opportunity to present their research papers and experience reports, and to take part in open discussions. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) theoretical and/or empirical exploration automotive sector, as well as case studies and experience reports related to:
- Industry 4.0
- Cyber Physical Systems
- Internet of Things
- Cloud computing for automation
- Energy and resources efficiency systems planning and engineering
- Artificial Intelligence in automotive
- Modelling of components for digital factory(interfaces descriptions, data exchange)
- Flexible and scalable communication interfaces for automotive production systems
- Flexible logistic in automotive industry
- New trends in ADAS
General Information
The AutoUniMo consortium (http://autounimo.aei.polsl.pl/) gathers academic and industrial partners for whom modern methods used in production systems are critical paths of their activity. The consortium consists of two industrial: Continental & AIUT, and two academic: Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt & Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice affiliates.
International Conference on Virtual Factory in Automotive Production Systems Engineering (VFAPSE17) scheduled on April 20, 2017 at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Esplanade 10, Ingolstadt, Germany aims to bring together academic scientists, industry researchers and engineers to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of automotive area, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.
VFAPSE17 is a great opportunity for engineering and computer science companies to expand their knowledge on the latest technology trends and technologies in the automotive industry. The Conference will allow familiarize students with new trends in hardware and software IT solutions used in automotive. We would like to cordially invite all willing companies and scientific institutions for lectures at the Conference.
CONFERENCE FORMAT: The conference will comprise oral presentations, posters and papers. The submissions should present significant and novel research results, practical improvements or modernizations with a prospect for tangible impact on the IT area and potential implementations. Working language of the conference is English.
POSTER SESSION: Presenters will share their ideas as attendees circulate during a designated time in the poster session area. Poster presenters must be present to answer questions during this session.
ORAL PRESENTATION: Limited to 15-20 minutes. Working language of the conference is English.

Submission Guidelines

- an abstract (max. 300 words)
- a short bio including your institutional affiliation and contact details either in MS-Word format or as a pdf
PAPER SUBMISSION: The abstracts of accepted be available as conference materials. Extended versions (up to 12 pages) of presented materials can be published available on paper Studia Informatica. Authors who decide for publication of extended version of their work should prepare manuscripts according to the instructions and templates available on: http://studiainformatica.polsl.pl.
Registration & Fees: Registration, participation, oral and poster presentation is free of charge. Fee for paper publication in Studia Informatica will be charged – 676,50 PLN gross (incl. 23% VAT) / ca. 150 EUR.
